As free agency draws to a close and more and more relievers find homes, top FA reliever Trevor Rosenthal just fell in the Yankees lap!
The Padres the last remaining team to have talked with Rosenthal other the the Yankees just added RHP Mark Melancon:
This completely removes the Padres from the Rosenthal chase and leaves ONLY the Yankees as a suitor for Trevor Rosenthal at this point and we know the sides are at least talking!
The Yankees absolutely have to pounce ASAP now! He can’t cost that much at this point!
I would throw a 3 year $15 Million base contract with incentives at him ASAP!
This needs to be done! The Dodgers, Padres, Angels, Phillies, Mets, ETC already got their relievers. ONLY THE YANKEES HAVE NOT out side RHP Darren O’Day!
This is 100% a no brainer! Trevor Rosenthal would love to join the Yankees pen! The Yankees need him!

Adding Trevor Rosenthal would be a great, GREAT way to end this offseason for the Yankees! Much needed bullpen arm and depth!
Again its a no brainer! Literally no reason not to now!
I have to believe Cashman is already p the phone with Rosenthal working things out! I will have to do some checking now! It makes perfect sense
