As the Yankees post season Press Conference just endended which also means its time again for The King Source’s Yankees 2027 Opening Day Roster PREIDICTION.
1st lets talk about what was said in this 2026 season ending press conference… IT WAS NOT NEAR AS GOOD AS FANS WANTED AND NEDED!
They talked about displeasure with the offense:
Appears James Rowesome’s job is on the line! Also that weak spots in the lineup will get fixed. due to the horrifically bad performence in 2026.
ALSO…
As you can see, Luis Garcia JR is the 2B for 2027 just as I said he would be.
So what spots remain open in the lineup? Lets take a look:
C: Austin Wells (L)/RIGHT HANDED CATCHER???
1B: Ben rice (L)
2B Luis Garcia JR (L)
3B: ??? Maybe McMahon if not traded? Maybe Matt Shaw? Teruaki Sato (MOST LIKELY AS OF RIGHT NOW)?
SS: George Lombard JR (R)
LF Cody Bellinger (L)
CF Spencer Jones (L)
RF Aaron Judge (R)
DH Giancarlo Stanton (Will be be DFA’d/Traded? Extremnely DOUBTFUL!)
So most the lineup retuirns in tact with a few glaring holes at 3B and right handed catcher. Ali Sanchez is as gone as gone gets mark my words.
For 3B the industry belief is that will be Japense star 3B Teruaki Sato who is coming off an NPB TRIPLE CROWN AND MVP. He is the Yankees to lose.
For RH catcher, its believed to be Tyler Stephenson or Ryan Jeffers with an long shot on Hunter Goodman of the Rockies.
SO WHAT ABOUT THE BENCH?
Well… It will look something like this:
C Tyler Stephenson/Ryan Jeffers/Austin Wells (if the unlikly happens and they trade for Hunter Goodman) (R)
OF Heliot Ramos (R)
OF Jasson Dominguez (S)
INF Marco Luciano (R) / Ryan McMahon (L)
There is also the belief as of right now, that Dominguez could easily be traded, as Austin Volpe almost certainly will be per market info and no remaining fit rof him, clearing up spots.
Its also no guarantee the Yankees can move Ryan McMahon either.
HOW ABOUTS THE ROTATION?
Keep in mind the Yankees just talked about shoring up the pitching staff.
- LHP Tarik Skubal (THE BIG OFFSEAOSN ADDITION TO STEAL HIM FROM THE DODGERS WHILE KEEPING HIM FROM THE METS)
- RHP Cam Schlittler
- LHP Max Freid
- RHP Gerrit Cole
- LHP Carlos Rodon
Yes I am projecting the Yankees sign Tarik Skubal! They WILL BE INVOVLED AND ARE A LANDSLIDE FAV! There’s also a reason for that!
Remember they were for and signed his fellow home town star, HOF LEFTY CC Sabathia years ago? I expect a 8 year, $275 Million type deal for Tarik Skubal.
NOW FOR THE BULLPEN:
CP: RHP David Bedner (GETTING A QO THUS NOIT GOING ANYWHERE! Likely gets a 5 year $75 Million extension or there abouts,)
SU1: LHP Adrian Morejan (Predicted signing as the Yankees flat out LVOE HIM!)
SU2: RHP Paul Blackburn (Believed to be getting resigned per Chris Kartchner)
MR1: RHP John Schreiber (Believed resigning who pitchers quite well adn will be cheap)
MR2: LHP Brent Headrick (Already on roster)
MR3: RHP Pete Fairbanks (Should be a cheaper signing for a great RH arm though he wants to sgtay in Flolrida)/RHP Anthony Bender (Via Trade)
LR1: RHP Clark Schmidt (Unless traded)
LR2: LHP Ryan Yarbrough (Believed resigning)
SO WHO GET STRADED AWAY?
LHP Ryan Weathers almost certainly gets traded away! Also RHP Will Warren is GONE AS GONE GETS! WHERE’S THE ROOM FOR THEM? The Yankees will definitely try on Ryan McMahon but we’ll see.
Stanton wil block any trade due to his BIRD RIGHTS! Also the Angels and Dodgers, the only 2 teams he would accept a trade to, having no interest!
So there’s the roster prediction for you guys.
Some major moves (LHP Tarik Skubal, 3B Teruaki Sato, and RHP David Bednar), Mostly moderate to lower ones.
Made every effort to stay as neuteral and realistic as could be while keeping in mind Cashman’s patterns.
Oh yeah, Cashman cofirmed his new 5-7 year deal is done as well for all the good thast does…
