The Yankees could not have botched the last 10 years worse if they wanted too. Here’s the lessons they must learn and use for the future.
The 1st one is I must point out 3 things EVERY title team since 2003 and all but one since 1985 have had with all WS Champions since 1970 having 2+ of these. They are:
- MULTIPLE LEFT HAND POWER BATS
- MUKLTIPLE ACES ATOP THE ROTATION
- 4+ Starters that can go 6+ IP any given night.
Get the picture? The Yankees have NONE of these 3 things right now.
To get multiple LH power bats is easy. 1st they must trade for star SS Francisco Lindor + RHP Carlos Carrasco.
Its your classic 2 birds with one stone scenario.
It gets a left handed power bat in the switch hitting Lindor and a 2nd ACE for the rotation.
For 2+ Aces the Yankees already have 1 in the best pitcher in the game Garrett Cole. the 2nd can be what I aforementioned OR…
A trade for RHP Luis Castillo, A trade for Brandon Woodruff + Josh Hader(No reason to trade with the brewers and not get Hader while they are at it!) and etc.
There are options here.
For 4+ SP’s that can go 6+ IP any given day they would have 2 of they pull off one of the trades I aforementioned herein.
to get 2 more then sould use their young guys and hop LHP Jordan Montgomery, RHP Domingo German, RHP Clarke Schmidt, RHP Deivi Garcia or ETC could be one and that Luis Severino comes back as one.
None of this is likely at all.
The Yankees should 100% trade for 2 SP’s as none in FA are worthwhile.
The 1st lesson is thusly:
YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SILID ROTATION TO HAVE ANY CHANCE AT THE WOLD SERIES!
The Yankees need to move on this fast via the trade market for Castillo, Carrasco, Plesac, Woodruff, ETC. Very, VERY fast.
Lesson #2 for the Yankees to learn from is thusly:
YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE MULTIPLE LEFT HANDED POWER BATS TO HAVE ANY CHANCE AT THE WORLD SERIES AND THE TITLE!
Check every title team since 1970 and out find left handed power bats! ITS AN ABSOLUTE MUST so what the heck are the Yankees doing without any ON THEIR ROSTER?
This is criminal neglect of their jobs.
The Dodgers just emphatically proved this shelling the Rays [itching staff with LH power bats. This is an absolute must!
Lesson #3 is thusly:
YOU ABSOLUTE NEED 4+ INNINGS EATERS IN YUOR ROTATIOM WHO GIVE YOU THE HCANCE TO WIN EVERY GIVEN NIGHT!
You absolutely have to have rotation depth. The Dodgers had 6 such pitchers and just won the world series. Same with the Nats 2 years ago.
The Yankees need to add 2+ starting pitchers and if not 3+!
These are not optional they are 100% MANDITORY!
NO one knows what the Yankees are doing this offseason BUT… not addressing these 3 things is as brain dead as it gets!
