Guys something just hit me we need to consider when it comes to the Yankees moves! They amount of $$$ they will make every year LITERALLY just doubled with the Yes Network buy back. How does this impact the Yankees and their thinking though?
Immensely! With the doubled profits from it they could have a $1 Billion total salary if they wanted! The Nets, Knicks, and other teams are handing the Yankees LOADS and LOADS of $$$ to be aired on it. This purchase ALONE jacks the Yankees franchise value top as high as $8.5 Billion creating a monstrous gap between them and the 2nd pace team the Dodgers valued at Around $3.5 Billion. Last year the Yankees made $648 Million total. This year that will EASILY leap over $1 Billion with the added Yes Network Profits.
THIS IS WHAT HAL WAS WAITING FOR TO OPEN UP THE CHECK BOOK! He is no longer going to hold back. Lindor? Done. Arenado? Done! HE’LL GO AFTER EVERYONE! ITS NO NO HOLDS BARRED!
Hal Stienbrenner now has the incentive he was waiting for to force out the luxury tax! In a article on The Athletic, Evan Drellich says the owners will band together to destroy it or force it out! THIS IS HUGE!
As such DON’T PUT ANYTHING PAST THE YANKEES! They are in a powerful, POWERFUL spot! With over $150 Million coming off the books(Britton, Happ, Ellsbury, Agent 0, Gardner, Tanaka, Paxton, and ETC) over the next 2 years combined with the Luxury tax about to get destroyed there’s no holding back the Yankees! They can literally add BOTH Lindor and Arenado and another layer and be fine. They could go to a $400 Million payroll if they want and still make more $$ then last year!
Stay alert! Arenado, Lindor, Hader, are most likely all coming. Hal and Cashman are going to load up for the next dynasty!
