Francisco Lindor Update. Also a Few Yankees Notes.

As me move through FA is more apparent then ever that star SS Francisco Lindor will be traded by the Indians. As such here’s what we know:

For starters the Dodgers are 100% out on Lindor! The Betts deal including the Price contract ends any chance they even enter the talks WHICH THEY HAVE NOT DONE!

As Martino points out the Dodgers have ZERO interest in Lindor after the Betts trade.

The Mets are out! LET ME STRESS THE METS ARE OUT! Due to the emergence of Andres Gimenez the Mats have ZERO interest in Lindor. They are making George Springer their major Acquisition!

So what team(s) remain in on him? Literally the only team in talks for Lindor RIGHT NOW is the NEW YORK YANKEES!

This is all that is known. All industry sources indicate this trade IS HAPPENING! Its believed the Yankees are offering BOTH Hicks and Ottavino IN A PACKAGE for Lindor and Carrasco…

Something like this:

Yankees Win: SS Francisco Lindor, RHP Carlos Carrasco

Indians Get: INF Anthony Volpe, RHP Deivi Garcia, OF Estevan Florial, OF Aaron Hicks, and RHP Adam Ottavino

I have heard Miguel Andujar is in play for this trade as well so we’ll see.

The Yankees will then extend Lindor to a expected deal of around 8 to 10 years and $160 Million to $250 Million.

Again literally all industry sources expect this deal to happen. I have heard the Yankees are also working on a trade for just Lindor.

As for when this deal is done the GM meetings next week still looks like the most likely time. Stay patient.

As for Yankees FA INF DJ LeMahieu, I keep being told his deal with the Yankees is 100% done just not announced. Your guess is as good as mine why it is now announced.

The Yankees remain in the lead for C Yadier Molina’s services. We’ll see how this plays out.

The Yankees are in talks with RHP Corey Kluber so stay alert there.

Finally the Yankees are in contact with the following teams about trades:

1. Cubs(I know but cannot say)
2. Rockies(Arenado?, Gray, ETC)
3. Brewers(Hader, Woodruff)
4. Pirates(Musgrove)
5. ETC unknown teams

Yankees are very busing trying to work smart equitable trades out and fix the issues on the team.

While I do not expect a overhaul I can see them adding 7 to 10 players. 3 Starters are mandatory, 3 Bullpen arms will happen, Lindor, and ETC.
