The Dolphins beat the Jaguars 31-13. a great win but their play exposed some glaring issues!

As you can see from the picture they took control early and rolled over the Jags.
However… The Jags kept exposing a massive flaw in the Dolphins defense that Coach Flores has to address in practice the next 10 days.
19 times, NINETEEN TIMES the Jags threw a short pas over the middle and got major yardage out of it. WHERE THE CRAP WHERE THE LB’S AND WHAT THE HECK WERE THEY DOING?
THIS IS INEXCUSABLE!
The Jags RB Robertsen caught 14 of these. WHERE THE CRAP WAS THE SPY ON HIM? This should’ve been a half time adjustment but no… FIX THIS ASAP FLORES!
The other defensive issue was Gardner Minshew getting away from the QB pressures way, WAY to many times for positive yards.
I counted 16 times he should’ve been sacked if not for getting away!
AGAIN WHERE WERE THE LB’S AND WHAT THE CRAP WERE THEY DOING?
Thee should’ve been there every time to flatten him right at the line of scrimmage.
Terrible holes here BUT… The team show great things as well.
The foursome of WR Devante Parker, TE Mike Gisecki, WR Preston Williams, and WR Isaiah Ford looked literally unstoppable.
They kept getting wide open. So many catches between them.
Byron Jones returning for the next game will be huge as Byron Jones, Xavian Howard, and Noah Igbinoghene look like a 3 head monster in the making that can not be thrown against.
Howard had a game ending INT and had a INT taken away due to hit hitting the ground in his arms. They combined to allow 1 catch for 2 yards and NO TD’s. WOWZA!
The O-Line looks like its rounding into form and especially when Jackson was off the field.
The Best O-Line combo used from yesterday was this:
- LT Robert Hunt
- LG Solomon Kinley
- C Ted Kerras
- RG Michael Deiter
- RT Ereck Flowers
They only used this for 8 snaps yesterday but averaged 13 yards per play when they used it. This O-Line flat out dominated.
Needs to be used a ton more. Its obvious the Dolphins are finding what works but they must use it now that they have finding it.
LB Kyle Van Noy was up to his old tricks yet again…
He stripped the ball causing a fumble and then pounced on it for the recovery.
Just like he did in the Poinsettia Bowl for BYU against SDSU. Only that time he got a TD for his Efforts:
It was awesome to see and proves why the Dolphins absolutely jumped at the chance to add him. He’s 100% a perfect fit and a leader for this defense.
Ryan Fitzpatrick was amazing as well. A Dolphins record 90% pass competition %. 2 TD’s through the air and 1 on the ground. A Great all around game for Fitzmagic!
Myles Gaskin looks every bit the NFL RB I knew he would be when the Dolphins drafted him. Dominating on the ground and catching passes.
Gaskins has 22 carries for 66 yards(HAs to don better here), and caught 7 passes for 29 yards. Once the O-Line figures it out he will put up 100 yard game after 100yard game after 100 yard game!
Breida and Howard are concerns though combining for 5 yards and a TD.
Its a dolphins win and a great, GREAT building block before the Seahawks travel 3400 Miles to play a well, WELL Rested Dolphins team coming of a half bye with 10 days rest.
I do see the Dolphins defeating the Seahawks due to all those miles and being unable to plan ahead for the Miami climate conditions.
Dolfans need to also root for another Texans loss as well due to the Dolphins owning their 1st round pick. The more the Hapless 0-2 Texans lose the better the pick gets!
Go Dolphins!
