Explaining the LIES in the Yankees Payroll and What the Situation REALLY IS!

As I have been going over the Yankees payroll I am sucked at the discrepancies I am finding! This is alarming. That said, lets delve in and find out the real #’s.

1st lets look at the guaranteed contracts:

Now lets look at the tax values and over all values:

The 1st thing to jump at me is Stanton’s contract. How is there no adjustment made for the fact the Marlins are paying APROX. $12 Million of it?

That alone drops the Yankees payroll to to $138,295,714.

The next error is…

DONALDSON’S CONTRACT DOES NOT COUNT MORE TOWARDS THE LUXURY TAX THEN ACTUAL VALUE! Unbelievable error here!

Thus, the payroll can be lowered to $134,295,714.

The Next error is forgetting DJ LeMahieu’s contract was designed as a tapering effect lowering every year, thus this year is ONLY around $10 Million.

We can lower the Yankees payroll to around $129,295,714 based off knowing this.

Now we know the Yankees are going to trade both 3B Josh Donaldson, and OF Aaron Hicks. YES THERE IS INTEREST IN BOTH.

As such the flexibility the Yankees have this offseason is unbelievable.

Lets say the Yankees drop Hicks and Donaldson along Gleyber Torres $. They could be starting the offseason with Judge, Rizzo, and SEVY all back at UNDER $140 Million.

YOU SEE THE ROSTER BUILDING POWER AT CASHMAN’S FINGURE TIPS NOW?

Keep in mind BOTH Luis Severino and Anthony Rizzo’s contracts are counted in the Yankees payroll already in the pictures above and thus we only have to factor in JUDGE’S CONTRACT.

The final error I will mention is they list 6 guys in LHP Lucas Luetge, INF Isiah Kiner-Felefa, RHP Clay Holmes, LHP Nestor Cortes, RHP Lou Trevino and LHP Wandy Peralta. Doesn’t effect much but still odd. I also expect a few of these guys traded in IKF and Luetge.

So what kind of offseason can the Yankees have with this kind of flexibility?

A MEGA BIG ONE! Say signing SS Trea Turner, RHP Kodai Senga, LHP Carlos Rodon, AND a RP like RHP Tommy Kahnle while also making 2 big trades.

Get ready for a aggressive offseason as I have been told to prep for. This will be fun!
