Why is There No MAJOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION?

From the time I was working in the SLCC Athletic Department, and coaching with the softball team I have been wondering why there is no pro softball league for these girls to be drafted in and play in?

It makes no sense as there’s plenty of athletes to play in it and more.

It wouldn’t be hard to set up either. Use college/High School stadiums the 1st season while the league stadiums get built.

You can start with 16 teams and expand as necessary.

Just think what all these girls that love the sport would think having their own pro league to get drafted in and play in.

Would be so amazing for them.

Coaches would come out of the woodworks in the form of former players, collegiate coaches and such.

I hereby officially propose getting the MAJOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION founded ASAP!

One girl who loves the idea is Isabella THE BEAST Adams. A friend of mine. An up and coming high school athlete who is a great young player and primed for such a league.

You can go off the Olympic Rule Book for Softball and add rules as needed. Jenny Lynch would be awesome to have involved and maybe as the 1st commissioner or ETC.

Heck I would take the job as the 1st commissioner to get this league operating.

Now I am not talking about the failed experiment of the woman’s pro softball league with only 4 teams and no TV deal. No exposure at all and nowhere near enough spots for all the athletes that want to play.

THAT LEAGUE IS AMATEUR AT BEST! Also only in the NORTHERN TEXAS and OKLOHAMA area.

Terrible league thus far. Nothing close to what is needed!

I am talking a Major League Softball Association set up like the MLB and WNBA with TV deal and everything.

A TRUE COUNTRY WIDE PRO LEAGUE like the MLB. A girls American Pastime partnered with little league softball, Collegiate Softball, and High School Softball.

THIS ABSOLUTELY HAS TO HAPPEN PERIOD!

A pro MAJOR LEAGUE Softball League with 16+ Teams, national TV coverage and exposure.
