Lets Take A Look at Another Yankees Prospect Set to Debut THIS YEAR in the Bronx: Trey Amburgey:

Lets continue looking at Yankees prospects that should be debuting this year. This time its Trey Amburgey!

Image result for Trey Amburgey

Amburgey is a 6’3″ 210 pound power hitting OF. In SWB last year .274 with 22 HR’s and 62 RBI’s. In a very, VERY UN-hitter friendly AAA league.

He gives the Yankees added depth and a clear big league ready bat. He’ll be one of the 1st called up when a Yankees OF goes down with a injury. He can also play 1B. Amburgey was drafted in the 13th round by the Yankees in 2015 and has flown up the system. He is currently in big league Camp with the Yankees.

He projects over a full 150 game 550+ AB season to bat around .288 with 35 HR’s, and 110 RBI’s. He’s a close comparison to another Trey in the O’s Trey Mancini. His average projection was .282 30 HR’s and 101 RBI’s. Your typical true 30/100 power OFer every team loves!

He’s a great base stealer in successfully stealing the base in 63 of his 77 attempts. That’s a astounding 82% success rate which is miles and miles above MLB average!

Defensively he’s as good as they come while easily handling all 3 OF positions and a few games at 1B.

When could we see him debut: At any point depending on Injuries! Gardner is a lock at 37 to get hurt and especially playing in CF… We knock Stanton and Judge’s injury history and greatly, GREATLY hope the new training staff gets this in hand. I would say my best guess is Amburgey gets the call in May or June after a injury.

He’s a great asset to have for depth or for trades. You will see his name at some point THIS YEAR!

Stay alert for this new Baby Bomber just like with Gettins. Yankees have several news Baby Bombers on the way!
