Yankees RF Aaron Judge Named American League Player of the Week

Aaron Judge was named American League Player of the Week on Monday.

Judge hit five homers during the week to lead the Majors, including four in the Yankees’ weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles. He now has 12 home runs on the season, tied for the MLB lead with Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuรฑa Jr. and Mitch Haniger.

Judge also batted an AL-best .571 and posted an MLB-high 1.333 slugging percentage and 1.973 OPS for the week.

For the season, Judge is hitting .298/.399/.611 with 12 homers and 24 RBI.

This is Judge’s fourth career Player of the Week Award. He most recently won for the last week of July 2020. Judge is the second Yankee to be named AL Player of the Week this month, after Corey Kluber won two weeks ago.
