Lets End the Debate! Cole is Far Better Than DeGrom!

There’s a debate everywhere in baseball of who is the better pitcher Cole or DeGrom. Time to end it!

We’ll go stat by stat and prove Cole is the far better pitcher!

Lets start with ERA:

Cole’s ERA in 2019 was: 2.50

DeGroms ERA in 2019 was: 2.43

That’s close enough to be a wash.

Striekouts:

Cole in 2019 had a MLB LEADING: 326.

DeGrom had 255

MASSIVE ADVANTAGE TO: COLE!

Walke Issued:

Cole in 2019 only issued 48 walks

DeGrom issued 44 walks

Another wash.

SO/W Ratio:

Cole’s SO/W ratio in 2019: 6.79

DeGrom’s SO/W ratio in 2019 was: 3.35

MASSIVE ADVANTAGE AGAIN TO Cole!

W-L Records:

Cole went 20-5

DeGrom 11-8

Again massive advantage: Cole

Batting Average Against:

Cole had a measly .186 BAA

DeGrom had a .206 BAA

Again MASSIVE ADVANTAGE: Cole!

Hits Allowed:

Cole allowed : 142 hits

DeGrom allowed: 145 Hits

Advantage: Cole

I could go on and on and on and on BUT… I will sum it up with this:

Of the 25 stats used to tell how good a pitcher is Cole leads DeGrom in 21 of them. The only reason he doesn’t lead him in WAR is how rigged that stat is.

Cole is only 29 where as DeGrom is almost 33 meaning Cole has 4+ mACE years left while DeGrom ahs maybe 1.

Cole is the far, FAR better pitcher plain and simple. Cole literally leads DeGrom in FPIP, WHIP, ETC, ETC, ETC! Every Metric but THE RIGGED WAR!

There is simply no argument you can make that DeGrom is the better pitcher. IT’S NOT TRUE!

Cole is simply better in every way!
