WOW are the Yankees ever roaring right now to the tune of 33 runs in the last 2 games! Just a 16.5 RPG average…
They couldn’t be hotter if they wanted to be! Outside of this is the rumblings still burning every, VERY hot!
The 1st I will talk about is Michael Brantley to the Yankees is as strong as I have ever seen one. Not only will it not die or close to that ITS GETTING STRONGER! The Yankees are eyeing him to replace Gardner.
Brantley is 33 so likely a 2 to 3 year deal tops.
How this works is Frazier is expected to be traded in the package for Francisco Lindor while Brett Gardner is 100% being released via the Yankees opt out clause in his contract!
If Brantley’s price tag is reasonable look out for this one.
As for J.T. Realmuto, the Yankees still 100% believe in Gary Sanchez who’s price tag is still very, VERY reasonable and will remain extremely cheaper then Realmuto.
I don’t see this one as likely but keep an eye on it as the Yankees will AT LEAST kick the tires on Realmuto.
The Yankees 2021 rotation and what it will look like:
Deivi Garcia was ACE like again his last outing going 7 innings of 3 run ball against the Blue Jays vaunted offence! He’s a lock. So is the guy named Garrit Cole. He’s pretty good right?
Outside of that there are no locks. Paxton’s Yankee career is done already. He’s out for the year voiding the rest of his contract. He’ll remain with his team though the post season run but that’s it.
RHP Masahiro Tanaka is expected to get AT LEAST 5 years and $100 Million in FA but the Yankees will not even approach that!
Being that Tanaka is already 33, its 3 years MAX from the Yankees and $15 Million per MAX… Will Tanaka take such a lower offer? No chance with $100 Million + offers coming his way! He’s 100% gone!
Happ is a lock to be gone as well. Not going to get the vesting option. Nor will the Yankees even talk to him in FA!
I stick with my prediction of this till RHP Luis Severino gets back:
- RHP Garrit Cole
- RHP Trevor Bauer
- LHP Robbie Ray
- RHP Deivi Garcia
- RHP Clarke Schmidt
Where Sevy will fit in this remains to be seen. He may be destined for the bullpen.
Marcus Semien:
This one I see as a fall back option for if the Yankees do not get Francisco Lindor which is fully predicted and expected by industry sources to happen. Semien is older then Lindor at 30 as well, thus not likely.
Liam Hendricks:
The Yankees are 100% going to talk to the 31 year old fire-balling righty. I can easily see them signing him. It would take a 3 to 4 year deal in the $55 Million to as high as $80 Million area.
Yes expensive but for one of the best relievers in the game.
Finally Joc Pedersen:
I will finish with OF Joc Pedersen as there’s almost no other things going around tied to or being tied to the Yankees.
The Yankees will kick the tires here. Not likely they sign him unless they do not get Brantley.
Just a note of SS Didi Gregorius: The Yankees are not expected to even talk to him in FA but never say never. Just don’t expect it at all.
