Here are 10 MLB Trades That MUST Happen before the August 31st Deadline!

As the MLB Trade Deadline is coming up at the end of August, teams are already quietly scouting players and getting ready for trades. Here is my list of 10 trades that absolutely must happen.

The Rockies Should Trade Nolan Arenado ASAP.. - YouTube

I will put each trade in respective order from 1-10. I will then give my predicted destinations and why and an ideal trade.

These are also taken from things that are in the rumblings around baseball right now.

TRADE #1:

The Mets trade Jacob Degrom!

This is an absolute must. Not only are the Mets a absolute mess right now, with one player after another going down (See tweet below),

DeGrom needs the chance to pitch for a real team and win a title! This is not happening in Queens.

Possible Destinations: Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Braves (IF they can convince the Mets), A’s, Twins

Favorite to land him: Yankees

Ideal Trade:

Yankees get: RHP Jake DeGrom

Mets get: RHP Domingo German, RHP Deivi Garcia, INF Anthony Volpe, OF Trey Amburgey, OF Everson Pereira

This to me makes the best sense as would a Cubs or Dodgers trade if they weren’t in the same League as the Mets.

The Mets land much needed depth and talent AND young pitching.

The Yankees send a clear message they bare winning #28 this year. They also send a message they are not messing around.

TRADE #2:

Rockies FINALLY trade 3B Nolan Arenado.

Arenado has a full no trade clause and thus fully controls his fate. He won’t accept a trade just anywhere. Like ONLY to the Dodgers and Yankees (I would have included the Angels but they now have Anthony Rendon).

The Rockies have tormented him for years with losing records. They are off to a hot start but can that actually continue?

My sources say he wants out even after the hot start as he does not believe it will last. The Rockies have little have no choice.

Possible Destinations: Yankees, Dodgers

Favorite to land him: Yankees as the Rockies will not trade him within the NL and let alone division.

Ideal Trade:

We know the Rockies demanded a replacement 3B, Catcher, RH hitting OF AND young pitching so…

Yankees get: 3B Nolan Arenado.

Rockies get: 3B Gio Urshella, C Kyle Higashioka, OF Canaan Smith, RHP Miguel Yajore, RHP Brooks Kriski

This is fair both ways and hits all the Rockies demands. It gets Arenado on the title team he desperately wants to be on. A win-win!

The Yankees also finally land a player they have tried for 2 times already. A player Cashman flat out loves!

TRADE #3:

Yankees trade OF Clint Frazier:

The Yankees have been nothing but mean to him treating him like a Yo-YO and even playing a washed up 37 year old has been in his place.

He deserves to be trade and to get the chance to play every day.

Possible Destinations: Indians, Rockies, Brewers, A’s. Angels, DOdgers, Cubs, Braves, Nats, Phillies, ETC.

Favorite to land him: Indians, Rockies, Brewers

Ideal Trade:

Indians get: OF Clint Frazier, INF Thairo Estrada, RHP Luis Gill, INF Chris Gettins, RHP Luis Medina

Yankees get: INF Francisco Lindor (and sign to long extension), LHP Brad Hand

The Indians get a guy who can be their everyday shortstop in Estrada, young pitching and a young OF.

The Yankees get Lindor and ink him to a long extension and take Brad Hand off the Indians hands.

TRADE #4(Same as #3 as its a 2 way MUST):

The Indians FINALLY trade INF Francisco Lindor!

The Indians already completely botched the extension talks and the Yankees are ready to pounce on him once he hits free agency, so why not do the trade now?

The Indians are looking like the won’t even compete either. No reason not to take a chance and get a haul for Lindor and drop Hand while they can.

Possible Destinations: Yankees only due to the complexity of this trade and Lindor will refuse to sign an extension almost anywhere else.

Favorite to land him: Yankees

Ideal Trade:

Yankees get: INF Francisco Lindor (And sign to long extension), LHP Brad Hand

Indians get: OF Clint Frazier, INF Thairo Estrada, RHO Luis Gill, INF Chris Gettins, RHP Luis Medina

Same trade as the last one and both teams need to do it to help eachother out and such.

This has to happen to help both side fix issues.

TRADE #5:

The Red Sox Trade J.D. Martinez.

The Redsux are off to a horribly slow start and have no chance to recover with Chris Sale, Eduardo Rodriguez, ETC out with injuries and nothing in their farm to trade with.

They have no choice but to trade him. He will opt out of his contract after this season if not traded to a contender.

Possible destinations: Braves, A’s, White Sox, Royals, Angels, Indians, Dodgers, Cubs, ETC

Favorite to land Him: Braves.

Ideal Trade:

Braves get: DH/1B/OF JD Martinez, Cash to balance the trade.

Red Sox get: OF Greyson Jenista, RHP Trey Riley, PTBNL

The Braves finally get a DH type bat for this season and ad some much needed offensive balance to their lineup.

The Red Sox trade Martinez to a real team and get some desperately needed prospects before he opts out after this season.

TRADE #6:

Brewers Trade LHP Josh Hader.

Its known the Brewers have wanted to trade him before he gets a massive extension.

Not many team were interested once the Brewers wanted a Miguel Andujar type player fo him to head line the package.

Possible Landing Spots: Yankees

Possible Landing Spots: Yankees

Ideal trade:

Yankees get LHP Josh Hader

Brewers get: INF/OF/DH Miguel Andujar, RHP Alexander Vizcaino, OF Brett Gardner, LHP J.A. Happ

The Brewers get much, MUCH needed depth and hitting and a replacement CF for Cain who is out right now. They also give Hader a real chance at a title.

TRADE #7:

D-Backs FINALLY trade LHP Robbie Ray!

The D-Backs have held trade talks about him the last few deadlines. They bare not competing at all despite Ray looking pretty bad this year with a 8.48 ERA, and a 0-2 record.

Why not call up the Yankees and give him to them for prospects?

Possible Landing Spots: Yankees, maybe others…

Favorite to land him: Yankees

Ideal trade:

Yankees get: LHP Robbie Ray

D-Backs get: OF Kyle Holder, LHP Jake Agnos and a PTBNL.

Yankees take a chance on a struggling 29 year old with ACE pointential.

The D-Backs get something for him before he walks in FA this coming offseason.

TRADE #8:

Royals Trade INF Whit Merrifield.

This has been rumored for years to happen. Nothing yet. The Royals are rebuilding from their championships years and Whit is not staying young at 31.

Trade him now for a butload of prospects before its to late.

Possible Destinations: Cubs, Dodgers, Brewers, Braves, Reds, Padres, Phillies, Nats, A’s, Rangers, Yankees, Blue Jays, M’s.

Favorite to land him: Cubs

Ideal Trade:

Cubs get: INF Whit Merrifield

Royals get: INF/OF/UTIL Nico Hoerner, RHP Ryan Jensen, INF Alfonso Rivas, LHP Brenden Little.

The Cubs finally land the lead off man they have been coveting. They give up a good bit but get a great bat for their lineup.

The Royals get a much needed haul for Merrifield.

TRADE #9:

Red Sox Trade Jackie Bradley JR.

This one needs to happen before he walks in FA. Just no reason not to.

Possible Landing Spots: Angels, Cubs, Brewers, Braves, Nats, Padres, ETC.

Favorite to land him: Angels

Ideal Trade:

Angels get: Jackie Bradley JR

Red Sox get: RHP Ryan Clark, OF Gareth Morgan

The Red Sox get more much needed prospects while getting something for Bradley JR before he walks in FA.

The Angels get much needed OF depth.

TRADE #10:

Giants FINALLY trade Johnny Cueto.

The Giants have been trying to trade him ever since they got him it seems. I think they finally get it done as teams look for pitchign which is scarce these days.

Possible Landing Spots: Braves, Dodgers, Cubs, A’s, Twins, White Sox, Rangers, Brewers, Phillies, Nats.

Favorite to land him: Braves

Ideal Trade:

Braves get: RHP Johnny Cueto, Cash to balance trade

Giants get: LHP Thomas Burrows, RHP Jeremy Walker, C Logan Brown

The Giants get a good package for him and get his contract of the books finally.

The Braves get the pitching they desperately need after losing ACE Matt Soroka for the year.

This trade is a win-win as both sides get what they need. I would love to see this one happen.

BONUS TRADE:

The Phillies trade JT Realmuto before he leaves in FA.

I am pushing this to happen as the talks between Realmuto and the Phillies completely broke down.

He’s set to be a free agent and its almost a lock he’s leaving. Why not try and get something for him now?

They have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying to trade him before he bolts in FA.

CHECK THAT! The Phillies almost have to do something now.

Possible Landing Spots: Dodgers, Yankees, Braves, Brewers, Rangers, A’s, ETC.

Favorite to land him: Dodgers, Yankees

Ideal Trade:

Dodgers get: C JT Realmuto

Phillies get: C Diego Cartaya, RHP Josiah Gray, RHP Andre Jackson

OR…

Yankees Get: C JT Realmuto

Phillies get:: C Josh Breaux, RHP Yoendrys Gomez, RHP Trevor Stephen

Either way for the Phillies they hit it big landing their long term catcher of the future. They also get desperately needed pitching help.

The Dodgers or Yankees would land a player they tried all out for 2 years ago before the Phillies landed him.

You may say wait a second the Yankees have Gary Sanchez and the Dodgers Will Smith so why would either want him?

EASY… The Yankees can move Sanchez to DH, Stanton to LF and roar. They could also turn around adn flip Gary Sanchez for Arenado.

The Dodgers are not yet sold on Will SMith and he can play elsewhere. They would flat out love JT Realmuto.

Summery:

These trades all need to happen. Maybe to to the ideal trade team orr favorite. I guarantee some will happen but which ones?

The Yankees, Cubs, Dodgers, ETC, and looking for reinforcements. Some teams are already out of it…

Lets see what happens but these trades absolutely need to happen.
